CovPilot

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way society functions. And while the world is slowly trying to regain normalcy, people are still expected to live with caution post-pandemic. Until such time that science finds an absolute cure to it, the virus is not going anywhere, and the threat of its mutation will carry on. The team proposes the development of a mobile application called CovPilot. It aims to assist the residents and visitors of New South Wales as they navigate their lives in a world with COVID-19.

The application has three main features: Navigation, Dashboard, and Support. The navigation feature is mainly an interactive map that helps users see exposure sites, testing sites, and vaccination hubs of a selected location. Users can also plot their travel routes in the app and avoid exposure sites. The dashboard shows updated COVID-related statistics such as the number of new cases, active cases, and those in intensive care. This feature will also provide updates such as vaccine boosters and international travel reminders. Finally, the support feature offers a live chat function that directs users to an agent that can assist with any COVID-related inquiries. Users will also have immediate access to helplines through this feature. Contact-tracing, data collection and content update are not part of this project’s scope, and the app will rely on data pulled from the government servers.
