Cryptocurrency Registry for Policing Transactional Offences

The Cryptocurrency Registry for Policing Transactional Offences, or CRYPTO, is an idea concept solution to identify criminal beneficiaries of cryptocurrency transactions. The project was the Western Sydney University finalist in the NSW Police Force inaugural think tank challenge: How can we identify the ultimate beneficiaries of proceeds of crime received as cryptocurrency? CRYPTO is an investigation case management system which facilitates the amalgamation of public and private sector cryptocurrency crime information. To date, there is no methodology for both police and industry to share evidence information or technical capacities. The solution provides a platform for evidence collaboration to enrich investigations, establish patterns between entities and crypto transactions and assist with legal actions, such as warrant applications and prosecution.
